Sperms Number Dropped

By Half. What This Means?

Sperm count over decades has dropped and it affects you and your partner

What does the new sperm decline data mean for you and your partner?

In the largest and most comprehensive study to date, sperm data was analyzed from 43,000 men from dozens of industrialized nations: Australia, New Zealand, North America, and Europe. It was found that an alarming 52% drop in sperm counts was observed in Western men between 1973 and 2011. This data suggests that male infertility is already and could become a more common problem in the future.

Take this short fertility test to assess your fertility potential and to learn how to enhance your fertility. It will give you valuable information about yourself.

What are the causes of sperm drop?

While the cause of this shocking sperm drop is uncertain, reproductive experts have various theories. Some suggest that a number of “modern living” factors including stress and the global obesity epidemic are to blame. Others cite smoking, lack of physical exercise, and endocrine disruptors – chemicals found in household products. No definitive answers have been reached. This all points toward the trend that sperm count decline may not be slowing down in the future.

How does sperm drop affect you?

What can you do now for you and your partner with this new information? Men and couples who are concerned about low sperm count and who wish to have children should not delay getting help. Male fertility testing is a simple and routine procedure. The most common procedure is a semen analysis – which can be ordered by the primary care physician or by a urologist – and sperm is collected into a specimen jar and presented to a lab technician. Alternatively, there are a few over-the-counter products to consider: SpermCheck, Trak, and the YO home sperm test.
