What inspired you to be a Reproductive Urologist?

I knew early on that I wanted to work in andrology. It has this interesting mix of surgical and medical solutions that have a powerful impact on people’s lives.

Why did you join Opionato?

Opionato is a good way to spread knowledge to more people that don’t really have access to fertility experts.

How would you describe Opionato is one word?

Innovative.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Helping people and discovering things other providers hadn’t considered in other to help couples have children.

What motivates you?

The opportunity to be intellectually curious and to be able to discover new things meant for the better of man kind.

Is there something you tell to all of your patients?

Health and fertility are very much related. I certainly encourage them to eat well, exercise, and maintain a good body weight. All those things will certainly help them overall and their reproductive health since being mindful of current health can impact reproductive future.

What do you wish more people know about fertility?

There is a close association between one’s personal health and one’s fertility. Being mindful of current health can really impact one’s reproductive future. And likewise, one’s current state of fertility can also have an impact on one’s future health.

What is the biggest misconception when it comes to male infertility?

There is an under appreciation of how prevalent male fertility problems are.

It is often perceived as “a woman” only problem while in fact about half the time there is a male component.

What is your hope for the future of fertility care?

To continue to improve the options we have in the clinic so that everybody can be a biological parent if they want.

What is a fun fact about you?

I remain loyal to my hometown sports team from Houston.

What are your hobbies? 

I enjoy playing and watching sports with my family.
